And thus spending my time learning how to Model in Blender.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted. That’s because I’ve been obsessing with a new toy. A 3D printer and possibly a new direction for a business model.
And what have I mean mucking around with? Firefly Cosplay Props of course (as we say this I’m printing out the finalised version of Jayne Cobb’s sidearm. (and the designing and making sure it is all right is a real pain I can tell you)
It was a giant learning curve. That is for sure. Not just learning to 3D model. But also working out how to optimise things on the printer. They’re finicky things (or at least the one we have it) Also learning the hard way. PLA plastic warps in the harsh Australian sunlight (see picture below)
So you might not see any traditional drawings from me for a long time as I try and build up a catalogue of 3D printables.
