Art Guitar Project

Been a while in the making. Bit difficult to find time when I had a job, also difficult to find money to work on it when I had no job. Yes this means I’m no longer working at that miserable place. Mixed feelings over it. One one hand I actually liked contributing to humanity tax wise. It was nice to not feel like a complete waste of space. But I also become severally depressive and suicidal (mainly due to a certain person there who made me so angry the violent side of me was surfacing and thus why I had to throw in the towel)

But the good side is that I now actually have time to work on stuff. This is available to buy if anyone is interested drop me a line.

Working on it:
Unfortunately I didn’t take photos of the guitar when I first got it. You can look it up if you like. It’s a beginners classical 3/4 acoustic guitar, Ashton CG-34

… I was ripped off when purchasing it (2nd hand) and thus it came to me with a broken neck. My own fault. I hate confrontation so didn’t look at it before exchanging money. Even though I had them send me photos of all kinds of areas to make sure it was in decent condition where the neck mets the body is the one area I forgot to ask. And that was the one area damaged. I didn’t really have the tools to attempt to fix it so I rigged up a kind of tourniquet and glued it back in place as best I could. Without any way of knowing if I was successful. But it worked a treat and the sound is great. I can’t say if it would hold though.

All sanded back and frets removed. The body is exceptionally beautiful wood. Very surprised considering the brand and price. The neck is maple which is pretty rubbish. Didn’t have a good grain on it and the wood was super soft. originally I wanted to engrave more of it, but the softness was terrible to work with so abandoned that and decided to just paint/ink the patterns instead.

Taking the frets out was also not a great job. I only had a few tools at my disposal so it was pretty much a hack job … putting them back was a nightmare, lol. But I got there in the end. But as a result the frets themselves aren’t particularly shiny or nice.

Painting Bob Dylan: I’m not actually a painter. This is my first real attempt since high school. Didn’t come out too badly, but I rather draw my portraits XD … he looks like someone scoped out his eyes … I though nobody would recognise it as Bob either, but my brother saw it while in the varnishing stage and said “why’d you put Bob on it, should be Elvis” … despite that blasphemy I was glad someone recognised it. Made me feel a little better about my paint work XD

Neck artwork. Plus first varnish layer … initially messed up the varnish job. Comes from not actually knowing what I’m doing. but I now have the experience to only mildly mess up next time (if there is a next time)

(trying to get your hand inside the sound hole to sign is almost impossible)

How it sounds (excuse the playing. Was just experimenting when I put the new strings on to see if it actually did play reasonably)
