Peter & Alan – Melbourne Supernova

I know. Been too long since I posted. Part of it was deliberate and part was sheer laziness. The four “signed” drawings below are what I’ve mostly been working on (plus loads of music)

I’m willing to part with 2 if anyone is interested in purchasing hit me up

So went to Melbourne Supernova 2018 and got to meet both Alan Tudyk and Peter Capaldi. Both amazing people.

Anyways. Peter wasn’t supposed to personalise that one piece. There was a strict law of no personifications for him due to demand. I actually didn’t want any. I wanted one for myself to frame and put up on the wall and the other to sell to make back the money I spent (so if you really want one please shout out because I borrowed money to go in the first place … money I still owe) … anyway he (and his assistant who was also Scottish so I wonder if they’re mates or something) was so impressed that they stopped and talked to me for a bit … which made me panic because I’m one of those folk who hate holding up the line, even for someone as awesome as the 12th Doctor … and Peter asked for my name, without thinking I blurted it out and next thing he is personalising it. I nearly cried from both excitement and horror (I wanted to sell that one) … so they both asked a few questions, we spoke for a bit, most of it went in one ear and out the other, (as tends to happen in my freaked out autistic brain when I’m in public) all I remember is him asking if I studied art at uni, and the look of surprises when I replied “no, I studied physics” lol … So that was cool.

Alan Tudyk was awesome too. His line took forever because he spent a little bit of time with everyone. Saying hi and genuinely being an awesome dude!  It was late by that time … and I think it’s important to point out that I’m a bit of a hermit … being outside in public makes me very uncomfortable … and crowds just flat out freak me out (I tend to have severe anxiety attacks, though I’m a lot better in my old-er age) … by the time I reached Alan it was pretty late in the day and I’ve endured around 5 hours of comic-con madness, so I wasn’t well at all. The anxiety was getting the better of me and I was physically feeling sick. The stress of getting closer to him wasn’t helping either. So by the time I got there I was not really with it. I struggled to not stutter (something that was a big issue as a kid but is almost absent nowadays expect at extreme moments) … he was really nice but my ability to “human” at that point was gone, his assistant pretty much spoke on my behalf (thank you, Alan’s assistant, you were great, and sorry Alan for being awkward lol)

Progress art and what not:

  1. If I ever knew I don’t recall.

Is there somewhere online where folk can see what you are currently offering for sale, and perhaps use to buy or bid for it?

    1. Hey David. I have tried to post on here. But it’s a bit messy unless I pay wordpress and right now that’s not viable. I do have a folder on Facebook (I know you’re not over there) that lets people know what’s forsale.

PS sorry about the late reply. I switched over to Brave some time ago, and it wasn’t a fan of WordPress notifications. So used to pop over on Chrome occasionally to check. But looks like brave has caught up finally xD

  2. All the more reason for me to relook at Brave.

January 2020 was really weird wasn’t it? People travelling at the drop of a hat, no masks, shaking hands, hugging.

    What were they thinking?

    1. Sigh … and Brave not letting me see wordpress notifications again. Well there goes that bit of excitement.

I heard about this fabled travel before, but tbh I think it was just a conspiracy.

      1. You’re probably right about travel. I thought I’d done some myself but it was probably just my memory playing tricks.

Like The Bay Rollers, another of which has supposedly just died according to the media conspiracy.
